Dinner plate Monkey garland
This porcelain dinner plate is part of the Sharing Moments service by Janny van der Heijden. In collaboration with Heinen Delfts Blauw, the television personality has launched a Delft blue tableware under the name 'Sharing Moments – Monkeys'. The service combines traditional Delft blue elements with modern details. This dinner plate features exotic flowers, slender branches and clambering monkeys that look cheerfully at you from the plate. The satirical monkey may seem very modern, but it is a popular theme that could often be seen on Delft blue porcelain four hundred years ago. This was called aperitif. “Aperij is playing ridiculous pranks and imitating human behaviour”, explains Janny about the design of her new tableware. “The playful monkeys in the new collection bring a smile to everyone's face. This genre of monkeys in satirical situations was a popular theme 400 years ago and we like to bring these light-hearted pranksters back to the table.” Monkeys are not only a symbol of absurdity, but in Asia these primates have been depicted on porcelain for centuries to depict wisdom and longevity. The porcelain dinner plate is dishwasher safe and is also suitable for the oven and microwave. The Sharing Moments tableware consists of the Tulip and Monkeys collections and was released through the fun collaboration between Janny van der Heijden and Heinen Delfts Blauw. THIS TABLEWARE IS DISHWASHER, MICROWAVE AND OVEN SAFE.
